Reborn - short film
Daily routine pulls me down to the known familiar earth, fear of the unknown, paralyzing, silencing. At times it seems like it is only me, by myself, in solitude.
And the change is here, unconditional, independent, it unfolds, no questions, no answers. Silence. For a moment, I am free, simply, rising.
Time is conceived at a different perspective. It is here. All that needs to be done is to behold.
“Reborn” is the product of collaboration between Michal Rotman – dancer, Eden Saadon Malin – textile designer, and Lior Milul Raz– videographer, that was conceived during the first COVID-19 lockdown, March-April 2020, and produced during the year that followed. We joined forces to create an interdisciplinary creation, that combines the various creative mediums we all engage in: motion, clothing and video. We worked whenever it was possible, given the COVID-19 limitations that were imposed on us, taking into account that filming was the main (and sometimes the only) way of communication. We feel that this work adequately represents the process that we all underwent as creators in these dire times, and the longing for rebirth and rejuvenation.
